Do you collect books like treasure? Do you devour the stories within, living for decades between the pages? Then join us, fellow Book Dragon, for a wonderful Readers’ Retreat!
At the Dragon Readers’ Retreat, you will get to enjoy two days of fun designed just for readers! Take part in activities that celebrate your love for reading, or relax in a hammock and spend hours consuming your current book. The choice is yours!
The Readers’ Retreat includes a swag bag full of goodies that would delight any Book Dragon, including one brand new book, chosen just for you based off of your questionnaire, and a beautifully wrapped mystery book.
On Friday, all of our readers’ retreat participants will check in at Spellbound Books in Owego after 12:00pm. You will receive your swag bag, a drink, the event schedule, and directions to the event location. You may then choose to curl up with a book to read at Spellbound, or venture out into town to explore! While accommodations for Friday night are not included, there are several beautiful local inns within walking distance of Spellbound Books for those who will be traveling from out of town or who wish to enjoy a stay-cation.
Saturday morning, all of our Book Dragons will meet for breakfast at Spellbound Books. Then, it’s off to scenic Forget Me Not Farm for the retreat! Reading-themed but optional activities will be held, lunch will be provided, and hours of reading time can be enjoyed. The retreat will wrap up at 4:30pm with a campfire and s’mores. Though dinner is not provided, participants are welcome to stay longer if desired.
Notes: Recommended age for participants is high school students and older.
